Happy Friday! Can’t believe halloween is right around the corner🙈🙉 where has October gone!? Today I’m sharing some of our favorite Halloween traditions and recipes! Hope you enjoy🎃

1- Homemade sugar cookies and frosting

My girls and I love making these the beginning of October and cutting them into Halloween shapes and frosting them. It’s something we do every year and share with family and friends.

Sugar Cookie Recipe: 2 cups butter

6 eggs

2 cups sugar

2 teaspoon vanilla

2 teaspoon almond extract

6 teaspoon baking powder

7 cups flour

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe: 1 pound cream cheese frosting

3/4 pound unsalted butter at room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1 1/2 pounds powdered sugar

2-Carving pumpkins

This is a MUST! My girls love doing these and displaying them at our front door..my only advice..don’t do them too early or they go moldy🙅🏻

3-pumpkin patches

There’s always festivities going on at pumpkin patches. This year we went one near our house and made a day of it!

4-trunk or treat…not to be confused with trick or treating. Each year our church get together and decorate their boots aka trunks. Children go from car to car trick or treating. It’s usually followed by prizes for best decorated car and a dinner. One of our favorites that I’ve help plan for the past few years!

5-anything and everything pumpkin..from pumpkin cookies, pumpkin waffles, to pumpkin bagels..we love everything pumpkin!🎃

Hope this helps you enjoy celebrating Halloween that much sweeter! Happy Halloween! Below is a favorite pancake recipe shared by avyroe!
