image-3-820x1024Hello and happy Saturday welcome back to my blog if you’re new to my blog I’m a hairstylist of 18 years and currently living in the UK.  I have opened the first natural beaded rows hair salon in the UK( affiliated with DKW salon in Laguna Beach California).

Today I am talking about how to be happy healthy and positive. There’s no secret recipe and we all experience highs and lows but here are 5 things that work for me!

1-Don’t skip meals! If I’m “hangry” as I like to call it I simply don’t make good choices. Anyone that knows me  knows that I always carry snacks. I feel if you do this it prevents you from making bad food choices and over eating. You are what you eat????

2-Hydrate!!! Another thing I ALWAYS carry is a bottle of water..although I’m actually better about drinking liquid if it’s in a cup with a lid and straw..I love the ones they sale at Starbucks! Plus they are cute???? and anything cute I love! I know plenty of people who replace fizzy aka soda with water and  instantly lose weight and feel better! Try it..find out for yourself!

3-Stay active…MOVE..stay in motion! It’s funny realy.. As we expend more energy we actually have more energy. If I sleep in and don’t work out I’m actually more tired than if I’d have woke up earlier and worked out.  Even if I only have 30 minutes..I do something, anything..circuit training, run down the street, planks, jumping jacks, push ups,…something is better than nothing????????

4- Write everything down. Every day I make a list of things that need to get done. That way I hold myself accountable for getting those things done. Our brains carry so much information. If I think of something I instantly take my phone out and put it in my notes..that way I don’t forget!

5- Sleep???? My husband always says don’t make decisions when you are hungry, tired or mad. Although this is hard to do all the time..he is so right! I used to run on 5 hours of sleep..I was running a business, single mom and still trying to have a life. Now that I’m remarried I’ve learned to slow down a bit…which is good???? So rest up..take time to meditate or stretch. So important for keeping balance and harmony in your life.
